David Sullivan has spoken out on West Ham manager rumours amid increasing speculation over the future of David Moyes and links to one man in particular.

West Ham majority owner David Sullivan rarely does interviews nowadays.

So it says a lot that he has gone on the record about the rumours and reports surrounding about the managerial situation at West Ham and links to one man in particular.

They say ‘don’t believe everything you read’. But they also say ‘there’s no smoke without fire’.

And there has certainly been plenty of smoke regarding Moyes and several other managers linked as his potential replacement – including a certain Will Still.

Still has repeatedly stated in various interviews that he dreams of managing his beloved West Ham, it was no surprise Still was linked as a potential replacement for David Moyes during the dark days of last season.

Indeed it was even claimed Still was on a six-man shortlist compiled by the West Ham board should they have parted ways with Moyes in the summer.

With Reims in the mix for a Champions League spot in Ligue 1 so far this season, it is perhaps somewhat inevitable Still will be linked with the West Ham job again given the incessant speculation surrounding Moyes’ future beyond the end of the current campaign – when the Scot’s contract expires.

And Still is certainly not doing anything to play that down.

Last week – with Moyes’ future being questioned – he once again publicly admitted it is his dream to manage West Ham.

Then Still was seen at the London Stadium watching the win over Nottingham Forest. And that sparked rumours online that he met with West Ham’s majority owner during his visit.

Now Sullivan has spoken out on the West Ham manager rumours amid increasing speculation over the future of Moyes and links to one man in particular.

Sullivan has spoken to Claret and Hugh about the rumours he met with Still and that the Hammers fan could be the man to replace Moyes.

The billionaire said he admires the Reims boss but insists it would be ‘too big a risk’. Although he did add the caveat ‘never say never’.

“No I didn’t speak with him,” Sullivan said.

“I admire what he’s done, but too much of a gamble. In a few years never say never. I think he came as he’s a genuine supporter.

“I have never spoken to him. These are just mischievous reports that unsettle the club and (are) totally made up.”

Following his visit to the London Stadium, Still continued his West Ham charm offensive by liking a social post showing him as Hammers boss.
