First-Team Squad

West Ham United have been home to some iconic players over the years, with legends such as Paolo Di Canio, Geoff Hurst, and Bobby Moore all representing the club at first-team level.

West Ham’s current squad also contains plenty of quality. The Hammers’ senior group for the 2025/26 season comprises 22 players, including four goalkeepers, nine defenders, four midfielders, and six forwards.

Below is a full list of the West Ham first-team squad under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

West Ham Goalkeepers

Mads Hermansen

West Ham’s new number one is summer signing Mads Hermansen. He joined from Leicester City for around £20m, arriving with great pressure on his shoulders. The Dane has faced a difficult introduction to life in East London.

Lukasz Fabianski

Lukasz Fabianski was West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper until this summer. The Polish international joined the Hammers in 2018 after an impressive season with Swansea City and quickly established himself as a reliable presence between the sticks. He has been a mainstay in the side for several years, although he is now approaching the end of his career.

Alphonse Areola

Alphonse Areola joined West Ham in 2022 after arriving from Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain. The French goalkeeper, a product of PSG’s academy, spent the early part of his career on loan, gaining valuable experience during spells with Lens, Bastia, and Villarreal.

West Ham Defenders

Kyle Walker-Peters

West Ham needed reinforcements in defence following several departures in the summer of 2025, and the free signing of Kyle Walker-Peters was widely viewed as a shrewd piece of business. The former Tottenham and Southampton full-back offers versatility, capable of playing on either the right or left flank.

Max Kilman

One of Julen Lopetegui’s first decisions as West Ham manager was to approve the signing of Max Kilman. Although the Spaniard has since departed, another former Wolves figure has now been reunited with the defender. Kilman has become a regular presence in West Ham’s back line, though questions remain over his long-term role within the squad.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

West Ham completed the signing of Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart in August 2023 for around £20 million, strengthening their centre-back options. The Greek defender earned a return to the Premier League after impressing in Germany, having previously spent time with Arsenal earlier in his career.

Jean-Clair Todibo

West Ham secured the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo in August 2024, beating competition from clubs including Juventus and Manchester United. The defender arrived at the London Stadium after an impressive three-year spell with Nice.

Axel Disasi (On loan from Chelsea)

West Ham added Axel Disasi to their squad on loan from Chelsea, bringing in additional defensive cover. The French centre-back arrives with Premier League experience, although it remains to be seen how Espirito Santo will use him.

El Hadji Malick Diouf

Young defender El Hadji Malick Diouf joined West Ham in the summer of 2025 after spells in Norway with Tromso and in the Czech Republic with Slavia Prague. The early signs suggest that he has the potential to become an important player for the club.

Ollie Scarles

Ollie Scarles is a young full-back who began his career in West Ham’s academy before spending a brief period in Chelsea’s youth system, before returning to the Hammers. He now wears the number 30 shirt and is part of the club’s first-team squad.

Kyle Walker-Peters

West Ham Midfielders

Tomas Soucek

Tomas Soucek arrived alongside Vladimir Coufal from Slavia Prague in the same transfer window and quickly became an important part of the squad. The midfielder has been a regular presence since joining, contributing with key goals at various stages, particularly during the 2021/22 season.

Soungoutou Magassa

A graduate of Monaco’s youth academy, Soungoutou Magassa joined West Ham in the summer of 2025 for a fee reported to be around £15 million. The young defensive midfielder is still settling into life at the London Stadium and currently wears the number 27 shirt.

Freddie Potts

A product of West Ham’s academy, Freddie Potts has gained experience through loan spells with Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth. He has now returned to the club and wears the number 32 shirt as he looks to establish himself within the first-team setup.

James Ward-Prowse (Loaned to Burnley)

West Ham have drawn on Southampton for recruitment in recent years, with James Ward-Prowse one of three former Saints at the club. Renowned for his set-piece delivery and creativity, the midfielder has since moved on loan to Burnley after finding regular starts harder to come by at the London Stadium.

Mateus Fernandes

West Ham completed the signing of Mateus Fernandes from Southampton during the summer transfer window. The midfielder was one of the standout performers in a difficult season for the Saints, and the Hammers are believed to have paid around £40 million for the Portuguese international.

West Ham Forwards

Crysencio Summerville

Crysencio Summerville joined West Ham in the summer of 2024 as one of Julen Lopetegui’s first attacking signings. The Dutch forward arrived after being named the Championship Player of the Season in 2023/24 during his time with Leeds United.

Jarrod Bowen

Jarrod Bowen’s move from Hull City has proven to be an excellent one for West Ham. He has been a key contributor in recent seasons, playing a central role in the club’s European success and earning recognition at the international level with England call-ups. Bowen is now the club’s captain.

Adam Traore

Adama Traore recently joined West Ham after arriving from Fulham, adding pace and physicality to the club’s attacking options. The winger brings Premier League experience and a direct threat out wide.

Callum Wilson

Signed in the summer on a free transfer after being released by Newcastle United, Callum Wilson is tasked with replacing Michail Antonio as the main striker for West Ham. He even took the number 9 shirt upon arriving. The 33-year-old is off the mark for the Hammers, but it all depends on how long he can avoid injury.

Niclas Fullkrug (Loaned to AC Milan)

West Ham’s decision to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund raised eyebrows at the time. The striker arrived after featuring for Germany at Euro 2024 and was expected to play a leading role in the attack, but he has found the transition to English football challenging.

Pablo

Pablo is West Ham’s latest addition in attack, joining from Gil Vicente after scoring 10 goals in 13 league games in the 2025/26 season. The striker is still adjusting to the demands of English football as he settles into life at the London Stadium.

Taty Castellanos

Taty Castellanos joined West Ham in January 2026 after arriving from Lazio, adding further depth to the club’s attacking options. The forward brings experience from Serie A and European competition.
