After Mateus Fernandes and El Hadji Malick Diouf, Crysencio Summerville this week became the third West Ham player to emerge on the radar of Manchester United.

It was reported on Tuesday morning, shortly after Summerville scored on his World Cup debut during a 2-2 draw between the Netherlands and Japan, that Michael Carrick’s Red Devils are keen on the former Leeds winger.

According to David Ornstein, a source as reliable as they come, Man United have lodged an enquiry for the £50 million-rated Crysencio Summerville.

DISCUSS: How much would you sell Crysencio Summerville for this summer? 💰

Summerville's value is only going one way after his World Cup heroics 📈

Claims The Telegraph would back up just before Kylian Mbappe turned on the style during France’s 3-1 victory over El Hadji Malick Diouf’s Senegal.

But while Man United are going full steam ahead in their pursuit of Mateus Fernandes, the whole Marcus Rashford situation means that West Ham United’s number seven may have to wait until late into the summer before his own future is sorted out.

Crysencio Summerville to Manchester United explained as West Ham await offers

The Telegraph say that Man United like the idea of signing Summerville and Fernandes for a combined £120 million. This will not be a so-called ‘double-deal’, though.

If Fernandes’ future is expected to be clarified sooner rather than later, it may take another month or two before Summerville is offered the same clarity.

How would you feel about selling Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham? 👀

It would feel so wrong seeing him in a Spurs shirt 😬

Summerville’s future, the report claims, is ‘intertwined’ with that of Marcus Rashford.

Man United will sell the out-of-favour forward for £40 million to all but Liverpool or Man City. The feeling is though that Rashford would rather see out the final year of his £350,000-a-week contract.

This means that, with Fernandes Man United’s top priority for the time being, a potential deal for Summerville sits a lot lower down on the Red Devils’ wishlist.

Man United will likely move for another midfielder and a left-back before considering a big bid for another winger. Even then, if they cannot shift Rashford, a big bid for Summerville may never arrive from Old Trafford.

In the meantime, Hammers News can confirm that West Ham view Man United as the most likely destination for Mateus Fernandes. That is despite new claims of a potential hijack attempt from an ambitious [sic, delusional] Tottenham Hotspur.
