West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has been linked with several European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
One of Summerville’s likeliest options is to join Roma, who finished third in Serie A and qualified for the Champions League.
This would be an excellent move for the Dutchman following his inconsistent 2025/26 season at West Ham.
However, one issue for Roma is that Summerville’s salary demands are reportedly well beyond their existing wage structure.

Roma face major hurdle in pursuit of Crysencio Summerville
Daniel Kretinsky’s investment means West Ham are no longer in a precarious financial position following their relegation from the Premier League.
It had previously been suggested that the Hammers would need to raise more than £150 million from player sales.
Even though that is no longer the case, Crysencio Summerville is still expected to depart the East London club this summer.
Summerville did not produce consistently enough for West Ham to survive relegation, but he did show flashes of world-class ability.
The winger scored four goals in four consecutive games in January — his best run of form in a claret and blue shirt.
Performances like those caught the eye of Champions League clubs, such as Roma, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Roma are now looking to sign Summerville, whom West Ham are thought to value at around £35 million.
However, Italian daily newspaper Il Messaggero has reported a significant gap between Summerville’s wage demands and the club’s proposal.
The Dutch international wants to earn around €6m (£5.1m) per season, whereas Roma are unwilling to offer more than €4.5m (£3.8m).
Unless Summerville’s representatives lower their demands, Roma will turn their attention to other winger transfer targets.
The Serie A club also have Marseille’s Mason Greenwood and Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis on their summer shortlist.
