Donyell Malen appears to be enjoying his part-time role as an agent during the Netherlands’ World Cup preparations, telling West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville to join him at Roma.

The Hammers rejected an ‘important proposal’ from the Serie A giants during the January transfer window.

But after bringing an end to their seven-year absence from the Champions League, Roma appear determined to pick up where they left off and succeed where they fell short in the winter.

Crysencio Summerville is a leading target for a Giallorossi side prioritising a left-sided forward.

DISCUSS: West Ham would be better off keeping Crysencio Summerville than Jarrod Bowen… 🤔

Summerville had 19 goals & 9 assists in the 23/24 Championship season! 🔥

West Ham United deemed Summerville ‘untouchable’ without a ‘crazy’ offer five months ago.

Now that they have a season in the second-tier to look forward to though, the Hammers are no longer negotiating from a position of such strength, even if Daniel Kretinsky has just injected £90 million into the club while raising his stake to 43 per cent.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma’s vice chairman Ryan Friedkin has held talks with Summerville’s camp over in the USA. The Giallorossi also have former Aston Villa, Dortmund, PSV and Arsenal forward Donyell Malen canvassing on their behalf.

Malen moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Villa Park in the same month that West Ham rejected Roma’s advances.

Corriere dello Sport now say that Malen, who enjoyed a scintillating first half-season in Italy with 14 goals in 18 games, is urging Summerville to join him in Rome.

‘Come to us, we’ll have fun,’ Malen is alleged to have told the Rotterdam-born speedster.

Liverpool move unlikely as Roma line up alternatives

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly admirers of Summerville. Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo are also among the 24-year-old’s international teammates, though a potential move to Anfield feels unlikely after Arne Slot’s sacking.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham value Summerville at £35 million.

It is believed that Roma are reluctant to put all their eggs in a single basket, meanwhile. They appear to be identifying a number of potential alternatives.

Former technical director Tim Steidten wanted RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa at West Ham during his time in East London. Nusa is now one of the left-wingers on Roma’s shortlist, alongside Bayer Leverkusen’s Bosnia dynamo Karim Alajbegovic.
