Hammers defender Nayef Aguerd may have played his last game for West Ham United amid facts and rumours circulating.
As fans know by now West Ham are set to lose at least two key players to AFCON for up to six games in the shape of Nayef Aguerd and Mohammed Kudus.
But it seems in Aguerd’s case the situation over the next month or so could prove to be very complex indeed.
And Aguerd may have played his last game for West Ham amid facts and rumours.
Hammers News brought you an exclusive from the top source inside West Ham recently.
It was confirmed that Tim Steidten and David Moyes want to make signings. But players must be offloaded to create space in the squad and meet FFP rules with the Hammers at their wages-to-turnover limit.

Aguerd may have played his last game for West Ham
Aguerd has proved very inconsistent for West Ham since arriving from Rennes for £30m 18 months ago.
According to a report from L’Equipe, the soon-to-be 28-year-old defender is being targeted by Lyon ahead of the January transfer window opening next week.
And realistically he represents a much better bet for raising a decent fee than many of the club’s fringe players.
Morocco’s national head coach Walid Regragui will announce his final squad for the African Cup of Nations on Thursday. Aguerd will be one of the first names on the list and will be required to leave West Ham on January 1st to meet-up with the squad – as confirmed by Morocco World News.
According to reports Aguerd is a big doubt for West Ham’s final game of 2023 at Arsenal on Thursday night through illness having missed the win over Man United.
West Ham’s next game after the Gunners is Brighton on January 2nd – when Aguerd will already be with the Morocco squad.

Facts and rumours with Aguerd a doubt for Arsenal
The Atlas Lions are one of the favourites to win AFCON. So Aguerd may not be back until the week after the February 11th final. If he comes back to West Ham at all given the increasing links with a move away.
Aguerd was heavily linked with a move to Saudi in the summer. And his inconsistent performances have continued this season. He divides opinion among fans for that reason.
With the Hammers needing to raise money and clear space for more homegrown players it is no surprise to see West Ham in fresh links to several English defenders such as Harry Maguire.
Should West Ham sell Aguerd in January, medicals can easily be conducted by a buying club while he is on international duty. So that will not be a barrier should the Hammers decide to ship him out.
So that combination of circumstances could mean Aguerd played his last game for West Ham in the 3-0 win over Wolves – which was one of his better performances of the current campaign.
Time will tell as the window opens next week.
