There’s been a breakthrough as Said Benrahma agrees a move to Lyon and it gives West Ham hope over Ibrahim Osman.

West Ham boss David Moyes offered a rare insight into the club’s deadline day transfer hopes yesterday.

The Scot revealed he hopes to bring in a left-sided attacker before the 11pm cut off after a chat with Hammers technical director Tim Steidten.

And he now he may get his wish it seems.

As West Ham fans will know, the club has been trying to ship fringe players out to make space on the wage bill for new signings.

Breakthrough as Benrahma agrees Lyon move

Thilo Kehrer and Conor Coventry have departed while Kalvin Phillips has signed for West Ham on loan from Man City.

A deal for Jota was killed stone dead after a shock announcement yesterday.

But hopes of signing £20m rated Ibrahim Osman took a hit when Said Benrahma stalled on a move to Lyon overnight.

Journalist Alan Nixon was one of several sources claiming Benrahma was unsure over the loan to buy move which more or less guaranteed West Ham around £15m.

But there’s a breakthrough as Benrahma agrees to Lyon move and it gives West Ham hope over Osman.

According to Foot Mercato, the Algerian is now flying to Lyon to complete his deadline day move from West Ham.

New West Ham hope over Osman

The transfer was left in suspense with Benrahma not immediately reaching an agreement to join Les Gones. But that impasse has now been broken.

And that will give West Ham renewed hope of landing Osman before the deadline.

Hammers majority owner David Sullivan was said to have been put off a deal by a trusted “advisor”.

But that allegedly frustrated Steidten who reportedly believes the exciting 19-year-old Ghanaian winger is a huge talent.

Osman, who graduated from the same academy as West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, took to his official Instagram account overnight to post a cryptic message ahead of deadline day.

The teenager has scored four goals and laid on five assists in the Danish league this season.
