The West Ham bid to sign exciting star Jota is now completely dead in the water after a shock announcement.
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for ex Celtic hero Jota ahead of the January transfer window deadline.
There was hope for the Hammers yesterday when super agent Jorge Mendes personally intervened.
Mendes got involved try and help get the playmaker’s move from Al-Ittihad to West Ham done amid issues over the tax implications for the player.

There was also a surprising twist in West Ham’s move for Jota on Tuesday when it was reported it could actually be an 18-month loan deal rather than just six months.
With Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals looking set to leave, Jota was just what David Moyes needed.
And the player himself needed the move having found himself left out of the Saudi club’s squad for the first half of the season due to rules limiting overseas players.
But now the West Ham bid to sign exciting star Jota is completely dead after a shock announcement.

Shock announcement leads to collapse
Reports in the Middle East state the deal has now collapsed after boss Marcelo Gallardo decided to register Jota in his latest Saudi Pro League squad in an incredible turn of events.
Media outlet Aawsat News reported that Jota has been included on the “club’s local roster, ending all hopes of West Ham signing the player.”
The news comes after the Saudi transfer window deadline passed last night.
This is a hugely disappointing development for West Ham.
And it remains to be seen now whether the club can or will redouble efforts to sign other targets such as Ibrahim Osman.
It may also impact West Ham’s thought process when it comes to deciding whether to let Fornals leave before Thursday night’s deadline.
