Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the winner in a battle between Aston Villa and West Ham for playmaker Morgan Rogers after late bid.

A late bid just over 48 hours out from the January transfer window deadline has produced a winner in a battle between West Ham and Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers.

That’s according to a breaking update from top transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hammers and Villa have been locking horns to try and sign Middlesbrough star Rogers, who is one of the most talented players in the Championship.

West Ham have been experiencing difficulties getting deals done for attacking stars Ibrahim Osman and Jota.

So they are reported to have added Rogers to their list of targets. Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is also a massive fan of the star.

But The Telegraph reported on Monday that the Villans had seen a third offer for Rogers turned down by ‘Boro, boosting West Ham’s hopes.

We reported on Hammers News last night that West Ham’s interest in Rogers had sparked Villa to up their offer and table a FOURTH bid.

Now Romano has confirmed the winner between Aston Villa and West Ham for Rogers after a late window bid.

‘Here we go!’

And it’s bad news for David Moyes according to an exclusive update from the transfer reporter who has given the deal his trademark ‘here we go!’

“EXCLUSIVE: Morgan Rogers to Aston Villa, here we go!” Romano said.

“Verbal agreement in place with Middlesbrough for talented English winger. After final proposal, Boro accepted and player now leaving training ground to travel.

“Medical tests booked next 24h, signing imminent for Aston Villa.”

It’s a blow for West Ham because the former Man City starlet very much fits the recruitment philosophy of both Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten.

Young, talented, homegrown and versatile, Rogers can play across the forward line as well as behind the striker.

On paper it looks an excellent coup for Villa over the Hammers. Now it remains to be seen whether he can make the step up to the Premier League.
