Aston Villa are taking action to try and beat West Ham to the signing of exciting attacker Morgan Rogers, it has been claimed.
West Ham and Aston Villa are locking horns to try and sign one of the most talented players from the Championship.
The Hammers and Aston Villa have been linked with Middlesbrough number 10 Morgan Rogers – a former Man City starlet.
West Ham have hit obstacles in their bid to sign attacking players this month.
Indeed Aston Villa provided one of them by rejecting West Ham’s attempts to sign bit-part forward Jhon Duran on loan.

Villa take action to try and beat West Ham to Rogers
The Irons are also facing difficulties doing deals for Ibrahim Osman and Jota. That, it is reported, has seen attentions turn to Rogers – who is also wanted at Villa by Unai Emery.
Now, with three days to go until the January transfer window closes, there has been a major development.
Because Aston Villa are taking action to try and beat West Ham to the signing of exciting attacker Rogers.
The Telegraph reported on Monday morning that Aston Villa had seen a third offer for Rogers turned down by ‘Boro.
That news was obviously a huge boost for David Moyes and West Ham.
But Villa are unperturbed it seems.

Fourth bid to fend off Hammers
And according to The Mirror, Aston Villa are set to table a FOURTH bid for Rogers to head off competition from Premier League rivals West Ham.
“Now they (Villa) are prepared to go to a package worth £15m for the former Manchester City youngster,” the report states.
“Villa boss Unai Emery would like to have Rogers, 21, in his squad for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.
“Rogers was born just outside Birmingham and would welcome a move back to the area amid interest from the Hammers too.”
Interestingly £15m is around the same amount West Ham are trying to sign Osman for.
So financially speaking West Ham clearly could match Villa’s offer. Especially with further funds expected to be raised by the departures of Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals.
It promises to be a frantic and intriguing last few days of the window. It slams shut at 11pm on Thursday.
