West Ham could get a major Victor Boniface boost if Crystal Palace grant a transfer after a claim from journalist Alan Nixon.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for brilliant striker Victor Boniface and now Crystal Palace could help make it happen.

Last week Scottish journalist Alan Nixon, who counts Hammers manager David Moyes among his close contacts, claimed the club are prepared to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s £50m valuation for the Nigerian.

There has been claim and counter claim since that West Ham may have to wait until the summer.

Palace could boost West Ham’s Boniface hopes

Hammers hopes have been raised after Bayer Leverkusen went out and signed striker Borja Iglesias from Real Betis last week.

Now there’s been a new twist involving West Ham’s London rivals Crystal Palace which could be great news for Moyes.

West Ham could get a major Boniface boost if Palace grant a transfer after Nixon’s claim.

Reporting on his Patreon, the Sun journalist claims Leverkusen are launching a shock move for Jean Philippe Mateta.

Nixon says the Eagles want £20m for the former Bundesliga star. And he claims Leverkusen will sell Boniface if they manage to sign Mateta.

Mateta holds the key says Nixon

“Palace would want £20 million for Mateta and need to find a replacement quickly,” Nixon said.

“Leverkusen’s chase for Mateta will also encourage West Ham who are keen on Victor Boniface as we revealed last week.

“The German side have already signed Borja Iglesias for their attack and landing Mateta would give them cover and make the Boniface deal easier.”

It has been widely reported that Boniface is seen as West Ham’s heir to Michail Antonio – who turns 34 in March.

Channels of communication between the Hammers and Leverkusen are already established given the German club’s former sporting director Tim Steidten is now West Ham’s technical director.

Boniface is not at AFCON due to injury but will be fit soon in a few weeks.
