David Moyes has lifted the lid on a D-Day transfer chat with Tim Steidten as he eyes a late West Ham deal before the window closes.
The clock is now well and truly ticking for West Ham to make any signings before Thursday night’s 11pm January transfer window deadline.
Into the last day, it promises to be a frantic Hammers rush if any deals are to be done.
West Ham have managed to bring Kalvin Phillips in on loan until the end of the season.

But there were hopes of landing a new forward who can play off the left with the likes of Jota, Ibrahim Osman and Steven Bergwij targeted.
David Moyes was also believed to be keen to sign a defender who can play centre-back and right-back with Trevoh Chalobah linked.
The man heading up recruitment is technical director Tim Steidten.
Steidten’s first window at the club in the summer was hailed the best in the Premier League. So expectations were high going into the winter market.
Now Moyes has lifted the lid on his D-Day transfer chat with Steidten as he eyes a late West Ham deal.

Boss eyes late West Ham deal
The Scot admits Steidten is ‘maybe struggling’ with the chaotic, last-minute nature of transfer activity in England compared to the sensible, planned, organised manner Germans do their business.
But he is not giving up on bringing in at least one signing.
“We had this at the start of the season (deadline day on same day as a game) as well, at Luton,” Moyes said, as reported by The Evening Standard.
“Now we’ve had it again. Not that you want to do your business on the last day of the window, nobody wants to do that.
“You know how many deals get done in the last day. I’m laughing with Tim about it. Tim’s German and they’ve got it all done, tools down early, all the stuff done whereas we’re last minute. He’s probably struggling to get used to our culture.
“The culture here is lots of deals at the end and the supporters hoping for a last-minute deal. Maybe this window there will be but at the moment it’s not as if it’s been a huge window for anybody.”
West Ham fans will certainly be hoping that’s the case.
There is already some simmering anger among some Hammers supporters about the prospect of no more new arrivals.
Those fans feel West Ham have an amazing opportunity in front of them to cement a top six spot and possibly even finish fifth – which would likely be rewarded with a Champions League place.
Not to mention the chance to compete to win the Europa League, which would also be rewarded with a seat at Europe’s top table for the revamped competition from next season.
