West Ham’s knight in a shining Ferrari has been spotted at Rush Green as Lucas Paqueta provides a huge boost.

There’s no doubting Lucas Paqueta is West Ham’s knight in shining armour.

But a more accurate description would perhaps be a knight in a shining Ferrari it seems.

The good news just keeps on coming for West Ham right now it seems.

It’s been a testing start to the new year for David Moyes and the Hammers. On and off the pitch.

Injuries and the absence of a host of key players exposed the lack of quality in depth in West Ham’s squad.

Paqueta the final piece in jigsaw

Results and performances have suffered as a result. Thankfully the damage has been limited by a quiet month fixture wise.

But things have very much been on the up for West Ham in the last week or so.

Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez are all back. Kalvin Phillips has been added. And Nayef Aguerd is on his way home.

The last piece of the jigsaw is perhaps the most important – that man Paqueta.

The Brazilian magnifico suffered a recurrence of a calf injury in the FA Cup clash with Bristol City at the start of the month.

Paqueta has been out ever since with conflicting reports stating he would be out for between four to eight weeks.

West Ham’s playmaker has been posting encouraging videos on social media showing him working his way back to fitness.

Moyes insisted he was none the wiser about Paqueta’s comeback schedule when questioned last weekend. And the playmaker was not even mentioned in the pre-Bournemouth press conference.

Magnifico for Moyes

Paqueta returned to the UK at the weekend after a spell of training with close friend and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. And his wife claimed he was nearing full fitness.

Now West Ham’s knight in a shining Ferrari has been spotted at Rush Green as Paqueta provides a huge boost.

According to West Ham board confidant Sean Whetstone, Paqueta was seen leaving the training ground at the same time as his Hammers teammates on Wednesday in his silver supercar.

And Whetstone believes that suggests Paqueta is back in training.

“Hammer Lucas Paqueta was spotted leaving Rush green the same time as the rest of the senior squad this afternoon raising hopes he has now resumed training,” Whetstone said alongside a picture of Paqueta and his sports car.

“Paqueta drove past fans who (were) waiting outside the training ground in his distinctive silver Ferrari.”
