Agent claims West Ham made official £11m January window bid, but it could have been for centre-back or attacker

West Ham United have apparently made an official bid for a player from Serie A in the January transfer window.

The only problem is, we don’t know exactly who it is, as West Ham boss David Moyes tries to considerably strengthen his ranks at the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

The Hammers manager appears to be closing in on a deal to sign Kalvin Phillips, whilst a move for Ibrahim Osman is also apparently in the works.

However, Moyes is far from done it seems, because an agent has just claimed that the 60-year-old has made a bid for someone from Serie A.

It seems that we have made an £11 million offer for an exciting young player. What isn’t clear though, is who we’ve tried to sign!

West Ham made official £11m January window bid

Former Italian football agent Massimo Brambati has been speaking to Tuttomercatoweb about dealings within the game that he’s aware of.

He explained:

“The truth is one: an agent friend of mine was in Riyadh for lunch with Ausilio, I know that West Ham offered £11 million for Carboni, who is at Monza, but he said no.”

Monza have two Carbonis – Andrea Carboni, 22, is a centre-back, whilst Valentin Carboni, 18, is an attacking midfielder.

What’s interesting here is that the agent claims that ‘he’, as in the player himself, turned us down, which means that our offer must have been accepted.

Both players are obviously young and have bags of potential, so it will be interesting to see whether or not West Ham go back in for him during the remaining week of the January transfer window.
