The West Ham United fans have just been absolutely hammered by our ex player Rio Ferdinand.
Rio Ferdinand is far from popular amongst the West Ham fans, due to his unwavering allegiance to Manchester United, and it didn’t go down well at all when he started hawking Mohammed Kudus out to the biggest Premier League clubs recently.
Ferdinand joined the Hammers academy as a young boy in 1992, before leaving to join Leeds in 2000.
He eventually moved on to Manchester United two years later and spent 12 years at Old Trafford.
Rio is often outspoken when it comes to matters at the London Stadium, and he was at it again today when giving his take on David Moyes, and the stick he gets from the fans at times.
The former West Ham centre-back made it very clear that the Scot deserves more respect from the West Ham fans…

Rio Ferdinand launches angry tirade at the West Ham fans
Ferdinand was speaking about how well Moyes has done during his time in charge of the Hammers.
And he had a really strong message for the West Ham fans, when speaking on TNT Sports today (January 21st, 1:31pm):
“Where’s the fans, I need to speak to the West Ham fans. I would like to know what you’re really expecting. What are you asking for from David Moyes? I’ve seen people disgruntled, not happy with Moyes, asking should he be changed. When you look at it, they won a European competition last year. They’ve spent the £100 million from Declan Rice exquisitely well and they’re sixth in the league. You have to be realistic sometimes and I think it’s disrespectful to be asking about David Moyes because he’s done a fabulous job here. To be questioned is just ridiculous. You need to sit back sometimes and say, ‘be careful what you wish for’.”
The thing is, you really can’t argue with the job Moyes has done since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time back in December 2019.
That said, the football being rolled out from the Scot on a weekly basis really isn’t good enough, considering the players he has at his disposal.
It is a turgid brand of defensive football that fails to inspire the fans. Then, there is the added problem of Moyes’s approach to domestic cup games, especially the Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool a month ago.
You can respect the job Moyes has done whilst thinking that a new manager is needed to really take us forward as a club. The two things are not mutually exclusive.
And I think that’s the point that Rio Ferdinand was missing when aiming a dig at the West Ham fans today.
