Brendan Rodgers has been heavily linked with taking over from David Moyes at West Ham.

West Ham manager David Moyes is really feeling the pressure, and Brendan Rodgers will know all about how that feels, having recently been sacked by Leicester.

The Hammers are currently sitting in 15th spot in the Premier League table, level on points with 18th placed Bournemouth.

Rodgers is someone who the West Ham owners are considering as a potential replacement for Moyes.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though that won’t be happening anytime soon…

Brendan Rodgers update provided by West Ham insiders

According to Claret and Hugh, Rodgers taking over from Moyes is a no-go at the moment.

That is because the former Leicester boss wants some time out of the game, having worked in management solidly for nearly eight years now.

That’s a real shame for the Hammers in my opinion. Rodgers would be absolutely perfect for us, in spite of his recent struggles with Leicester.

Rodgers has had sustained success for years with Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City.

The 50-year-old deploys an expansive brand of exciting, attacking football. It would be such a refreshing change for the Hammers fans to have someone like Rodgers at the helm at the London Stadium.

And guess what? He’s actually won numerous trophies with Leicester and Celtic – something that Moyes has never done in his two-decade plus managerial career.

Brendan Rodgers would take this West Ham squad to another level entirely, I have absolutely no doubt about that.

However, it seems as though the Northern Irishman will not be London Stadium bound anytime soon.
