West Ham are considering sacking David Moyes and appointing Graham Potter as our new manager.

David Moyes is really struggling in his role as West Ham manager and Graham Potter will undoubtedly empathise with the Scot.

The 47-year-old was recently sacked by Chelsea after the west London outfit embarked on a really poor run of form before the end of last year up until now.

The Hammers have been even worse than the Blues though, and are currently sitting outside the relegation zone purely because of a superior goal difference to those below us in the Premier League table.

It was recently suggested that one of the main reasons why Moyes hasn’t been sacked yet is because there ‘aren’t any better managers available’.

However, if the latest report from the Telegraph is to be believed, then Moyes’s time at the London Stadium could be coming to an end…

David Moyes could be replaced by Graham Potter

According to the Telegraph, it is now likely that the Hammers will try to bring in Potter and sack Moyes.

Here’s the bad news though West Ham fans – it’s likely not to happen until the summer.

Let’s hope that it’s not too late by then. I would absolutely love Potter at the London Stadium but there will be no chance of that happening if we are in the Championship.

The 47-year-old worked miracles at Brighton and in fairness to him, he did a decent job at Chelsea until Todd Boehly started spending money like it was going out of fashion on players the manager hasn’t even asked for. Either way, he wasn’t given the time for his footballing philosophy to manifest into results on the pitch.

Potter’s style of football is uniquely brilliant and captivating to watch. It is a complicated system though, so we will have to give him time for his ideas to bed in, if he is indeed named as the new West Ham manager.

If the West Ham board do attempt to appoint Graham Potter in place of David Moyes, whenever that may be, it will be a sign that they have genuine ambition to take this great club forward.

Our chances of bringing the ex-Chelsea boss to East London in the summer will depend heavily on our ability to avoid the drop this season though.
