West Ham might have a great chance to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Werder Bremen this summer.

That’s because the Bundesliga club are desperate to sell players in order to help clear the £33 million debt that they are currently in.

And selling Niclas Fullkrug to West Ham United is an option for Werder Bremen, according to German publication BILD.

Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for a new striker this summer. Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca both face uncertain futures at the London Stadium.

Werder Bremen hitman Niclas Fullkrug is someone who has been on the Scot’s radar for a while now. And now it seems as though Moyes could be gifted with an opportunity to sign the six-capped Germany international…

West Ham handed big chance to sign Niclas Fullkrug

BILD reckon that Werder Bremen’s £33 million debt will help the Hammers sign the 30-year-old Germany international this summer.

Fullkrug has bagged 15 goals and five assists in 24 Bundesliga goals this season (Transfermarkt).

He has also scored six goals in six appearances for Germany. That’s some record isn’t it.

However, I firmly believe that Fullkrug should not be a target for West Ham.

However, he is 30 now. Surely moving to the Premier League from the Bundesliga at that age would be a massive challenge?

Why is Moyes not targeting young and hungry forwards with a real point to prove? That is what he said he wanted to do after all. He hasn’t always lived up to that promise though…

The Scot made eight new signings in the summer transfer window but only two of them were under the age of 24 at the time – Flynn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca.

In my opinion, West Ham should avoid a move to sign Niclas Fullkrug this summer, regardless of whether Werder Bremen are prepared to sell him or not.
