The Europa Conference League represents a great chance for West Ham to win our first trophy since 1980…43 years is far too long to wait for some silverware isn’t it!

The Hammers should have more than enough to get through to at least the semi-finals of the competition, if David Moyes sets up his team with a positive mindset of course.

But what happens if we reach the final? Where will the game be played and how many tickets will the West Ham faithful be given?

That last question is where the bad news comes into play…

The Conference League final will take place at the Eden Arena in Prague. The stadium, also known as the Fortuna Arena and formerly known as the Sinobo Stadium, has a capacity of just under 20,000.

However, the tickets available to the West Ham fans will be minimal, if we reach the final.

UEFA’s policy is to give 20% of the stadium’s capacity to both clubs participating in the final, which would equate to just 4,000 tickets for each club. Double that amount are then put on sale for ‘fans worldwide’, with the remaining seats being kept aside for officials and local fans etc.

Just 4,000 allocation for a European final is absolutely pathetic in my opinion. And if UEFA want the Europa Conference League to gain more respect, then they need to start hosting the final at bigger venues – ones with a 40,000 capacity at the very least.

West Ham obviously want to win the Conference League final. Our fans have been starved of any kind off real success for far too long now.

I genuinely believe that we can end 43 years of hurt this summer by lifting UEFA’S third tier club trophy.

However, it’s such a shame that only 4,000 of us will be able to see the final in the flesh, should Moyes lead his troops to Prague on June 7th.
