One Gent player has just done Moyes’s team-talk for him ahead of the West Ham United UEFA Europa Conference League clash.
West Ham were paired up with Belgian outfit Gent out in Nyon on Friday, in the Europa Conference League quarter-final draw.

The two legs will be played on the 13th and 20th of April, with the second-leg crucially being played at the London Stadium.

Gent are currently sitting in fifth place in the Jupiler Pro league out in Belgium, 20 points adrift of league leaders Genk.
Meanwhile, the Hammers are facing the prospect of relegation, and are currently sitting in 18th place in the Premier League table.
That is something that a Gent player has highlighted when speaking to the Belgian media…
Gent player does Moyes’s team-talk for him ahead of West Ham Conference League clash
Hugo Cuypers has been speaking to Het Nieuwsblad about his side’s European clash with the Premier League outfit next month.
And the Gent forward responded when asked about his team’s chances of making it through to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League:

“We want to try to get a good starting position and then we go to London. Hopefully we can go one round further. They are now in a relegation battle. Maybe that can play to our advantage, but on the other hand they have already come this far and then you want to get everything out of it. They also don’t play European every year, so they certainly won’t underestimate it. We watched the draw with part of the group. Everyone was quite satisfied.”
There you go boys, your team-talk has been done for you.
Hopefully our current position in the Premier League table will give the Gent players a false sense of security heading into the huge quarter-final clash.
It certainly sounds like that could be the case judging by Hugo Cuypers’ comments.
The Gent vs West Ham Europa Conference League clash is a vitally important one for both sides, obviously. There are no easy games at this stage of European competition, so Moyes won’t allow his players to underestimate the Belgians.
If we are on top form though, I don’t see any issues whatsoever for us.
