West Ham latest as report emerges that David Moyes is “going” as Mark Noble makes the situation crystal clear.
Christmas has been and gone and West Ham fans may have missed some big news as attentions turned to family, friends, food and fun over the last few days.
The Hammers were not in action Boxing Day as they bring down the curtain on 2023 with a trip to Arsenal on Thursday night.
But as always seems to be the case with West Ham that did not mean a lack of news coming out of the club.
And in case you missed it there have been some significant claims and comments made.

West Ham latest: Moyes “going” as Noble makes situation clear
This is the West Ham latest with David Moyes “going” as Mark Noble making the situation crystal clear.
Given that West Ham spent Christmas in the top six after qualifying for the last 16 of the Europa League, you might expect speculation over Moyes’ future to go quiet until the new year at least.
Quite the opposite.
A journalist claimed yesterday that sources have informed him of a seven-word message Moyes has told close friends – that he will leave the Hammers at the end of the campaign.
It is reported that Moyes has told those friends he “won’t be at West Ham next year” and adds that the Scot ‘has had no signals from club chiefs they want him long-term’.

And it is also stated that work has already started in the search for Moyes’ successor.
If accurate one thing we do know is that search will be led by technical director Tim Steidten with input from sporting director Noble and of course the owners.
Interestingly, Noble has lifted the lid on the power Steidten holds at the club after a fascinating transfer revelation.
We pointed out on Hammers News that there is nothing necessarily unusual about the fact West Ham have not yet had discussions with Moyes over a new contract.

Even if they do plan on extending the Scot’s stay, majority owner David Sullivan has a policy of waiting until the end of a season to evaluate such matters.
But amid the fresh speculation about Moyes’ future, it is worth noting Noble has also made the expectations of the West Ham board for this season perfectly clear.
The former Hammers midfielder says maintaining the current position in and around the top six while progressing in Europe is the expectation from above.
Although ahead of the January transfer window opening, Noble has also claimed Moyes does not have the squad to compete on all fronts.
Never a dull moment when it comes to West Ham is there.
