Tim Steidten is going nowhere if a new West Ham announcement is anything to go by amid continued Liverpool links.
Another day and another rumour has emerged about the future of Liverpool-linked West Ham technical director Tim Steidten.
Recent reports have claimed the Reds have identified West Ham’s recruitment chief as their prime target to replace Jorg Schmadtke.
In an effort to ease fears among West Ham fans Hammers News reached out to the most senior source inside the club about Liverpool’s interest in Steidten.
We exclusively reported that the top West Ham contact admitted it would ‘not be easy’ to stop Liverpool luring Steidten away.
There was further bad news for West Ham when Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg confirmed the Liverpool hierarchy do want Steidten at Anfield.

And Steidten then publicly flirted with the idea of joining Liverpool just last week.
It is being claimed in some quarters that David Sullivan will try and keep Steidten out of Liverpool’s clutches by allowing him full control to pick David Moyes’ successor should he depart.
Today The Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg claimed West Ham could be fighting a losing battle to keep Steidten.
“There is growing concern that Steidten, who was previously at Bayer Leverkusen, is not happy in east London and could walk away in the summer. Sources believe he is frustrated with the way that West Ham operate and feels that he has not been given enough power,” Steinberg states.

But Steidten is going nowhere if a new West Ham announcement is anything to go by amid those Liverpool links.
Earlier this month, we reported on the fact Steidten had officially appointed Max Hahn from Werder Bremen as West Ham’s new Head of Technical Recruitment and Analysis.
In that article we also reported Steidten was hoping to also appoint his brother Moritz to a scouting role at the London Stadium.
Well there’s good news for West Ham’s hopes of keeping the former Bayer Leverkusen guru and bad news for Liverpool this evening.

Despite The Guardian’s claims, Steidten is surely set to stay at West Ham after The Daily Mail confirmed Moritz has now been officially appointed by the Hammers as the club’s new head of international scouting and recruitment.
Steidten appears to be putting down roots in east London now.
Whether that is because he has received reassurances he will be selecting the next manager remains to be seen.
But scaremongering that he will be leaving is surely just that after Moritz’s arrival at West Ham.
After all why would you bring in a respected football man like Hahn and your own brother if you had plans to leave in three or months’ time?
