However, it seems like Chelsea will beat us to the punch.
Thomas Tuchel was sacked by the Blues during the early stages of the season before Graham Potter was handed the reins at Stamford Bridge.
Potter then suffered the same fate as Tuchel, before Frank Lampard was named as caretaker manager of the west London outfit.
And now it seems as though Chelsea have a plan to bring in Pochettino imminently…
Chelsea to appoint Mauricio Pochettino
According to the Telegraph, the former Tottenham boss is close to being named as the new Blues boss.
That’s a real shame for the Hammers. Whilst Pochettino seemed like a hugely ambitious appointment for us, I believe that we still had a chance of bringing the Argentinian to East London.
Now that dream is well and truly over though.

Whilst that might be a bit of a stretch, he is definitely up there with the very best in the game.
Mauricio Pochettino will undoubtedly go on to be a huge hit at Stamford Bridge in charge of Chelsea, and it will be good to see him back in the Premier League.
However, it’s such a huge shame that the 51-year-old won’t be in the London Stadium hot-seat – I truly believe he could have taken us to the next level.
