West Ham could save a fortune this summer by promoting ‘outstanding’ 18-year-old to replace Gianluca Scamacca.

Gianluca Scamacca has endured a really difficult debut campaign with West Ham, since moving to East London from Sassuolo for around £30 million in the summer of 2022 (Daily Mail).

In all fairness, David Moyes hasn’t set up his team in order to get the best out of the 24-year-old striker, and he has been heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium.

If the Italy international is allowed to leave, Moyes will have to bring in a big money replacement. Or will he?

I believe that Divin Mubama is ready to step up and make a difference at senior level for the Hammers…

West Ham could sell Gianluca Scamacca and replace him with Divin Mubama

The 18-year-old striker has been in truly exceptional form for the Hammers’ youth teams this season.

Described as an ‘unbelievable’ young talent, Mubama really does have it all. The club’s official website recently labelled Mubama as ‘outstanding’.

Mubama has scored 29 goals in 29 games for West Ham under-18s and under-21s so far this season (Transfermarkt). That is a truly superb return for the striker.

Mubama has pace, power and finishing ability in abundance. Next season could well be the time for Mubama to make a real breakthrough with the senior team.

As things stand though, he has Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Scamacca all standing in his way.

The big worry is that, like many other youngsters recently, Mubama looks at his current situation and believes that a move away from the London Stadium will provide him with the best chance of regular first-team football.

Should West Ham decide to sell Gianluca Scamacca though, the 18-year-old may well see a clear path to first-team football with the Hammers.

Moving on the Italian and promoting the London-born youngster would be a fiscally sensible move from West Ham as well.
