Ex-West Ham striker Andy Carroll experienced a truly wild game with Reading last night – one that ended with a red card.

Since joining Reading on a free transfer in September, Carroll has actually proven to be a very useful addition for the Championship outfit.
He has nine goals and two assists to his name in 30 league games so far this season for the Royals (Transfermarkt).
However, Carroll endured a whirlwind game for Reading during their 1-1 draw with Luton last night…
Andy Carroll handed red card after scoring
The 34-year-old put Reading ahead after 51 minutes against Luton last night.
A few minutes later he made it two for the home side…but only temporarily.
Carroll was adjudged to have handled the ball into the back of the net in true Diego Maradona style and was subsequently handed a second yellow card before being given his marching orders.

That was the striker’s second red card while playing for Reading in the last three months.
It’s disappointing that the 6ft 4in hitman has that side to his game, because he is clearly making a big difference for the Championship club this season.
The red card given to Andy Carroll last night was the correct call – he really didn’t need to do what he did.
And with Reading in real danger of getting relegated, losing the 34-year-old for one game will be a major blow to them.
