West Ham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from 90 Min, Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek is on the radar of West Ham.

The upcoming summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for Hammers boss David Moyes, with plenty of incomings and outgoings expected.

The most notable exit could be Declan Rice, with Arsenal being heavily linked with a move to sign the 24-year-old West Ham skipper (Football.London).

Loftus-Cheek, 27, would be a more than adequate replacement for Dec in my opinion, and we have been linked with a move to sign him for quite some time now – dating back to 2021.

It seems as though the Hammers could be ready to reignite our interest in the 10-capped England international this summer…

West Ham could go back in for Ruben Loftus-Cheek

The Hammers are said to be ready to battle the likes of AC Milan, Lazio, Napoli and Newcastle for the Chelsea star’s signature at the end of this season.

Now, it will be incredible tough for West Ham to beat those clubs to the signing of the 27-year-old. However, with a bit of ambition in the summer, I believe we might just be able to win the race.

I would absolutely love for Moyes to bring Loftus-Cheek to the London Stadium this summer.

The Blues star has energy, power and pace in abundance. He is also an incredibly technically gifted footballer. The 27-year-old can play in a variety of positions, including the deep-lying play-maker role, as an orthodox central midfielder or even as an advanced number 10.

He has also operated as a wing-back for Chelsea at times this season. The Englishman has bagged 13 goals and 17 assists for Chelsea in 150 games (Transfermarkt).

Standing at 6ft 3in tall and powerfully built, Loftus-Cheek is a fine specimen of an athlete.

He is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2024, although Chelsea do have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

If West Ham come in with a decent offer for Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer though, the Blues may well be tempted into selling him.

And the opportunity to remain in London may well prove to be an attractive one for the 27-year-old midfielder. Loftus-Cheek has been with Chelsea since he was only eight – 19 years! So I truly believe that he might just be keen to remain in the Capital.
