West Ham United could be offered the chance to sign Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer according to a report from the Express.

The 25-year-old midfielder would be a superb addition for the Hammers.

The only problem is that Loftus-Cheek heading to the London Stadium would be part of a deal to take Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge.

The Express claims that the west London outfit are still very much interested in signing Rice.

That’s in spite of the fact that Thomas Tuchel now has the Chelsea hot-seat and not Frank Lampard.

It is suggested that Chelsea’s priority is to sign a top class striker this summer, however. So they may not have the cash to sign Rice.

Because of that, the Blues are allegedly prepared to offer West Ham a selection of players in exchange.

One of the names mentioned as a possible makeweight is Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The 25-year-old is spending this season on loan with Fulham and he is excelling at Craven Cottage.

Chelsea prepared to send Ruben Loftus-Cheek for West Ham

The England international has been a real presence in the heart of Scott Parker’s midfield.

He is incredibly technically gifted and has the ability to physically dominate opponents what with his 6ft 3in frame.

Loftus-Cheek has pace and power in abundance. He is very versatile as well.

The Chelsea ace can operate as a deep-lying midfielder, in a more orthodox central role or as a number 10.

It could be argued that he needs to leave Stamford Bridge this summer on a permanent basis in order to fulfil his potential.

Loftus-Cheek would be a sensational addition for West Ham. Let’s make no bones about it, however.

If the only condition to him joining us is Declan Rice heading to Chelsea, we shouldn’t even be considering it.
