A report has made a really big Jose Mourinho claim, as West Ham United search for a replacement for David Moyes.

Jose Mourinho is allegedly a target for West Ham to replace David Moyes, according to a report from Siamo La Roma.

Moyes is currently under real pressure at the London Stadium, with his Hammers side sitting level on points with 18th placed Bournemouth in the Premier League table.

It was reported a couple of months ago that the West Ham owners had taken ‘concrete steps’ to bring Mourinho to East London in place of Moyes.

However, it seems as though the Hammers have absolutely no chance…

No Thank You – that was the response from the 60-year-old Roma manager when offered the job at the London Stadium, according to Siamo La Roma.

That’s a real shame in my opinion. Mourinho would be an absolute box-office appointment at West Ham.

Sure, the Portuguese boss isn’t the manager that he once was but he’s still on another level entirely to Moyes.

Some people will say that Mourinho’s football is just as turgid as Moyes’s but it’s absolutely not true. Just look at his Chelsea side from 2004-2007.

Or look at some of the football his Roma side are currently playing! He’s a winner as well, with three Premier League titles, two Primeira Liga, two Serie A, one La Liga and two Champions League titles to his name.

David Moyes’s approach to the game is almost anti-football, and he hasn’t won a single meaningful trophy in his career to date. In order for us to make some genuine progress as a club, he needs to be moved on at the end of the season.

I would have taken Jose Mourinho at West Ham all day long this summer.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though there is no chance of that happening.
