West Ham manager David Moyes has just said what we’re all thinking about Danny Ings.
Danny Ings has really struggled to make much of an impact since David Moyes brought him to West Ham United in January, aside from his brace against Nottingham Forest of course.

The 30-year-old started inly his fourth game for West Ham against Southampton today.

He was once again isolated up front on his own before being dragged off with around half an hour still to play.
Ings just looks like a square peg in a round hole at the London Stadium at the moment. It’s obvious to us all that he needs to be playing up front with a partner, and its seems as though Moyes has finally woken up to that realisation as well…
David Moyes has just said what we’re all thinking about Danny Ings
The 30-year-old failed to make any kind of impact against his former club today.
And Moyes responded when asked about what he thought of Ings’ display against Southampton this afternoon, as quoted by Football.London:

“We’re only just getting to know him. He’s probably someone who might need more people around him, the Nottingham Forest game showed Danny Ings is a penalty box striker. We’ve not been up the pitch that far enough often enough.”
So if the Scot realises that Ings is not at his best when playing up front on his own, why on earth hasn’t he tried him in a two yet?
And if David Moyes has no interest in playing two up front, why did he sign Danny Ings in the first place?
I just find it all rather strange if I’m honest. Don’t get me wrong, I like Danny Ings. He has great movement and has proven throughout his career that he is a superb finisher.
The ex-Southampton and Aston Villa man just doesn’t seem to be suited to our playing style whatsoever. And for that reason, I think he was a panic signing made with no real thought as to how he would fit in at the London Stadium.
