Aston Villa are reportedly ready to sell West Ham United target Calum Chambers in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Birmingham Live who claim that Unai Emery is prepared to allow the 28-year-old defender to leave Aston Villa at the end of the season.

West Ham boss David Moyes definitely needs to bring a top-class centre-back to the London Stadium in the summer.

In fact, he actually tried to sign Chambers in the January transfer window, but was unsuccessful in the end.

It now seems like Moyes might have a second bite of the cherry at the ex-Arsenal defender in the summer…

West Ham target Calum Chambers could leave Aston Villa

Birmingham Live claim that Villa are ready to sell the 28-year-old, who has three England caps to his name, this summer.

I actually think Chambers would be a decent addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old is tall and very good in the air. He’s a good tackler and is fairly quick along the ground as well.

The ex-Arsenal man is equally as good when playing in the centre-back and right-back positions, and he would be a big upgrade on Vladimir Coufal in my opinion.

Chambers would also provide very strong competition and cover for the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer at the London Stadium.

Quite how much the Villans will demand for Chambers remains to be seen.

But if Aston Villa are prepared to sell the defender for a reasonable fee, then West Ham boss Moyes shouldn’t think twice about bringing him to the London Stadium.
