West Ham are eyeing up the possibility of signing Calum Chambers from Aston Villa before transfer deadline day.

That’s according to a report from Dean Jones who told Give Me Sport that the 28-year-old Aston Villa star is under consideration by Hammers boss David Moyes.

West Ham were heavily linked with a move to sign Chambers when he was an Arsenal player a couple of years ago.

The Villa ace can play at centre-back or right-back, so it’s easy to see why Moyes want to bring him to the London Stadium from Villa Park.

And if Villans boss Unai Emery is willing to let him leave before deadline day tomorrow, I believe this one might just have some legs…

West Ham want to sign Calum Chambers

The Aston Villa defender is on the Hammers’ radar according to a report from transfer guru Dean Jones.

I actually think Chambers would be a decent addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old is tall and very good in the air. He’s a good tackler and is fairly quick along the ground as well.

The ex-Arsenal man is equally as good when playing in the centre-back and right-back positions, and he would be a big upgrade on Vladimir Coufal in my opinion.

Chambers would also provide very strong competition and cover for the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer at the London Stadium.

The Hammers’ relegation rivals seem to be strengthening their respective squads left right and centre this month, whilst we stand still.

However, West Ham signing Calum Chambers from Aston Villa would be a big coup for us in my opinion. Having said that, whether it actually happens or not is another matter entirely.
