If Pablo Fornals doesn’t get a start tonight for West Ham United against Manchester United, he will surely be questioning his future at the club.

David Moyes will obviously want to make progress through to the quarter-finals of the competition. However, the problem for him is that we have so many games coming up thick and fast in three different competitions.

With that in mind, it would be no surprise to see Moyes make a few changes and perhaps bring Pablo Fornals back into the fold. The Spaniard has hardly been used at all over the past few months.
So Moyes’s team selection for tonight’s game against Manchester United will tell us a lot about how he sees the Spaniard fitting into his squad in the future…
Pablo Fornals needs a start for West Ham tonight
The Spaniard has only been handed three starts by Moyes in the Hammers’ last 15 Premier League games.
And in four of those 15 games, Moyes didn’t even bring him on off the bench. Fornals has been given just 291 minutes of action in the Premier League since we beat Fulham on October 9th (Transfermarkt).
Fornals has played just 26 minutes per game on average during those 11 matches where he has featured.

Something has to give. The ex-Villarreal ace, signed for £24 million in 2019 (BBC), clearly won’t be keen on warming the bench for too much longer at the London Stadium.
If Moyes makes a few changes tonight, and ignores Fornals yet again, even after his assist during his seven-minute cameo on Saturday, the Spaniard may well have a big decision to make.
The Spaniard offers us something that we don’t otherwise possess when he doesn’t play what with his unrivalled work-rate and exceptional technical ability.
However, Moyes just hasn’t fancied him over the past few months for some reason, and his team selection tonight will give us a big clue as to how he views Fornals’ role in the team going forward.
