West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta is being targeting by Premier League leaders Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The talented Brazilian star joined West Ham in the summer of 2022 from Lyon for a club record £51 million fee (The Times), despite strong interest from Arsenal at the time.

The 25-year-old has just started to prove his worth for the Hammers and is beginning to settle really well at the London Stadium.

However, his time with West Ham could be short-lived if the latest round of reports are to be believed.

Arsenal may well come knocking for the ex-Lyon star’s signature in the summer…

Shock Paqueta report emerges six months into West Ham career

The 25-year-old midfielder is attracting attention from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta according to Spanish media outlet Fichajes.

Newcastle united apparently want him as well, and both clubs would be willing to spend around £61.5 million on signing him before the start of next season.

I have to say, this rumour surely has no truth to it whatsoever.

There is absolutely no chance that West Ham would sell Paqueta so quickly after buying him, unless we get relegated of course.

The 25-year-old Brazilian is just starting to show what he’s really capable of. And once he is fully settled into the side, as well as the other summer singings, then I think we could be going places.

David Moyes will certainly not want to sell Paqueta, although he might not be at the London Stadium by the time the summer rolls around. However, whoever is in charge will want to keep the Brazilian – he’s a superb player and has so much still to offer this team.

In my opinion, if Arsenal or Newcastle come in with £60+ bids for the South American in the summer transfer window, there is absolutely no way that West Ham will sell him if we are still a Premier League club.
