‘Huge’: David Moyes shares what he told the West Ham United players in the dressing room after Manchester United defeat last night.

West Ham took the lead through a brilliant Said Benrahma goal early on in the second-half last night.

Really, the Hammers should have been 3-0 up after Michail Antonio squandered a couple of great chances.

And Moyes let the 32-year-old forward know about it after the game in his post-match press conference.

However, there were plenty of positives as well. The way that we actually started on the front was a huge bonus. That said, the bottom line was that we didn’t make it through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup

And Moyes has opened up on what he told the players after the game…

The Scot spoke to reporters after the game at Old Trafford yesterday.

And Moyes highlighted how disappointed he was at exiting the FA Cup at this stage, as quoted by Football.London:

“Huge. I’ve told the players I’m more disappointed that we didn’t get through, I really am. I thought we had a great opportunity tonight to knock United out and for long periods we played well enough to be considered a team that was going to beat them and go through.. We just didn’t get over the final bit.”

I am as disappointed as Moyes is.

Our 43-year wait for a trophy goes on. Let’s just hope that we are successful in the Conference League!

I was actually fairly impressed with our performance last night, certainly for the first 70 minutes. However, dropping out of the FA Cup at this stage is still hard to take. On to the next one it is with Brighton away on Saturday a hugely important game for Moyes and his team.
