West Ham United manager David Moyes has just sent us all for a hot dog, as the saying goes.
David Moyes produced a masterclass on Thursday night as West Ham beat Freiburg 5-0 at the London Stadium, and progressed through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League in the process.
The Hammers players put in an absolutely sensational performance – arguably their best of the season so far – and it was so refreshing to see us take the game to the opposition.
Moyes surprised everyone by including Michail Antonio in his starting XI for the Freiburg clash, despite suggesting that it would be nigh on impossible to start either the 33-year-old or Danny Ings alongside his regular front three of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
The Jamaica international ended up putting in a truly sensational performance, reminding us all of just how important he still is to this team.
Moyes deserves real praise for starting him and let’s face it, he had us all on strings if we’re being honest didn’t he – fans and reporters included!

Moyes caused real controversy on Wednesday with his comments about the need to defend, rather than setting up with four attacking players in the final third.
The Hammers fans, myself included, suggested that the Scot would never change, and would stick to his central midfield trio of Tomas Soucek, James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez until he leaves his role as manager of West Ham.
Even Ian Abrahams, who asked the initial question, seemed to be taken back by Moyes’s abrasive response.
However, it’s very clear now that the Scot played us all like a violin. Well played Dave.
I think we sometimes forget that managers like to play it coy during press conferences at times, and we shouldn’t always take things they say at face value.
David Moyes has just proven once again why he’s the West Ham manager and we’re not. I have given him plenty of stick over the past couple of years, but now he deserves huge credit for having the courage to start Antonio last night.
