Lucas Paqueta did something really embarrassing when he got subbed off for West Ham vs Freiburg in the Europa League

Lucas Paqueta was subbed off midway through the second-half during the West Ham United vs Freiburg Europa League clash last night.

West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta got us off to a great start against Freiburg by scoring the opening goal, and we ended up reaching the Europa League quarter-finals comfortably after a convincing 5-0 win.

Paqueta, 26, has been absolutely magnificent for us this season, and he has been rewarded for his fine form with a recall to the Brazil national team squad.

Hammers boss David Moyes is so reliant on the South American star, but he sensibly decided to bring him off when we were 3-0 up with half an hour still remaining last night.

The former Lyon star had gone down a few times holding his calf, so the Scot clearly didn’t want to risk him with a home game against Aston Villa to come on Sunday.

However, Paqueta’s childish reaction to being subbed really was a poor look…

Lucas Paqueta reaction to being subbed off for West Ham vs Freiburg

As the Brazilian left the pitch to be replaced by James Ward-Prowse, he didn’t even acknowledge his teammate, let alone give him a high five as he entered the pitch.

Paqueta also completely ignored his manager Moyes, walking around 20 yards or so wide of him in order to ensure that no contact was made.

It was really, really poor from Paqueta. Listen, I totally get players being disappointed when they leave the field of play, and the 26-year-old was clearly no different – he obviously wanted to carry on.

However, he could have shown that disappointment when leaving the pitch, but still acknowledged Ward-Prowse and Moyes as he fully exited the field of play.

Lucas Paqueta played a key role for West Ham against Freiburg last night, but his attitude to his teammate and manager when he was subbed off took the gloss off his performance for me unfortunately.

I have no doubts that Moyes will be having a word in the Brazil international’s ear about his behaviour last night.
