West Ham star Kurt Zouma is facing a month out but there is good news for David Moyes over a World Cup hero claims new report.
West Ham were rocked recently when it was announced somewhat out of the blue that Zouma required a knee operation.
The French defender has arguably been one of the club’s most consistent players this season – althought that is no great compliment given West Ham sit one point off the bottom three ahead of the restart.
News of Zouma’s knee op came as a huge blow to Moyes, who is under pressure to turn results around after the World Cup break.
Particularly as the manager had to convince majority stakeholder David Sullivan – who had concerns over Zouma’s history of knee issues – to sign him from Chelsea for £29m.

West Ham’s official update on the injury and operation was vague. And that gave rise to speculation that Zouma would be out for the rest of West Ham’s season.
Claims of a lengthy four to six month absence have been labelled ‘premature’ by key West Ham sources.
It was reassuringly reported that Zouma did not have a major operation and that the club are ‘hopeful he will be back in the squad quickly’.
That positive outlook was reinforced when Zouma was captured on video walking into West Ham’s Rush Green training base with no obvious issues last week.
But Italian outlet FirenzeViola then claimed the prognosis for Zouma is that he could be out for four months.
To add to West Ham’s woes, £30m summer signing Nayef Aguerd left the field injured and in tears as he helped Morocco into the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
It has since been reported the centre-back has a low grade thigh tear and he missed the win over Portugal which sealed Morocco’s historic passage into the semi-finals.
Hammers fans have been anxiously waiting for news on both players with a trip to league leaders Arsenal on Boxing Day looming large on the horizon.
West Ham star Zouma is facing a month out but there is good news for Moyes over World Cup hero Aguerd claims a new report.

Claret and Hugh state that West Ham are hopeful that Zouma will be back for the game against Wolves on January 14th – just over one month away.
But Aguerd is expected to be back for the Hammers when they take on the Gunners. And if not then the games against Brentford or Leeds shortly after.
“The player (Zouma) is still not training and there seems little chance of him being ready for Christmas and early new year games,” Claret and Hugh state.
“However, there are hopes that Nayef Aguerd will have recovered from his thigh injury in time for the game against Arsenal.
“However it seems more probable that he will be available for the game against Brentford at the London Stadium or the away game at Leeds on January 4.”
