David Moyes has overseen an incredible turnaround since being appointed as Hammers boss for the second time in December 2019.
West Ham are now flying high in third position in the Premier League table.
We are on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League and have a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Tottenham booked in just before Christmas.
The ‘West Ham are absolutely massive’ tag that the fans have adopted over the past couple of years is self-deprecating.
We have been mocking ourselves to a certain extent…up until the past few months…because now, we ARE MASSIVE!
In truth, the Hammers fans know only too well that this won’t last forever. So we are enjoying it and having fun with it in the process.
West Ham are absolutely massive and this proves it
The Hammers are actually punching well above our weight this season.
West Ham are above Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham. We’re level on points with Manchester City and just three points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.
David Moyes has somehow managed to have us fighting with those teams.
And considering our inferior budget, it really is a miracle.
In fact, a graphic emerged on Twitter last night from Transfermarkt, showing the difference in values of each squad inside the current top five:
The difference in squad values between West Ham and Manchester City of €726 million (£622 million) really is quite staggering.
The fact that we’re competing with those teams and beating some of them is all the evidence we need that yes, in fact West Ham actually are absolutely massive…everywhere we go.
Hopefully we manage to build on the foundations laid by Moyes.
With potential new investment incoming, these are very exciting times to be a West Ham fan.
