The summer transfer window has all of a sudden gone into overdrive for West Ham United.

Exciting times lie ahead for West Ham, after Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten finally started to make some concrete moves yesterday.

It must be remembered – the Hammers have already made three very solid signings in the form of Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham.

However, the imminent arrivals of Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will take the Hammers to another level entirely.

West Ham are said to be in advanced talks with the Manchester United star whilst Summerville is believed to be pencilled in for a medical today, and could even join up with the boys on the US tour.

Even if both of those players do come to the London Stadium, more work is needed for Lopetegui and Steidten.

However, the latest name to be linked with a move to West Ham is a slightly surprising one, albeit very exciting…

West Ham hold meeting with agent of Baris Alper Yilmaz

Baris Alper Yilmaz is a firm transfer target for the Hammers this summer it seems.

He has already been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium over the past few weeks.

The 24-year-old Galatasaray star really stood out for Turkey out in Germany at Euro 2024, and he is a hot commodity this summer.

Now, according to a report from Turkish publication Fotospor, West Ham have made an official move to sign Yilmaz.

In fact, officials from the Hammers have met with the player’s agent about a potential £30 million transfer.

Yilmaz is an exceptional player, and he would be a superb addition for the Hammers.

He bagged seven goals and 12 assists in 55 games for Galatasaray last season, and played a key role in their historical title win.

Yilmaz is a right-footed right winger – a rare commodity in this day and age. However, he can play out wide on the left as well, and through the middle as a striker if need be.

I have no doubts that the Turkish ace is ready to make the jump up in quality from the Super Lig to the Premier League.

It must be said though, do we really need him? If the Summerville deal goes through, I would suggest that Lopetegui would be better off targeting the addition of another centre-back, rather than bring in another attacking player.

I don’t expect West Ham to sign Baris Alper Yilmaz this summer, but the amount of exciting links doing the rounds prove that the summer window now really is bursting into life for the East London outfit.
