West Ham United have been frantically trying to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran over the past few weeks.
It seems highly likely that West Ham target Jhon Duran will move on this summer, after Amadou Onana was pictured wearing the 20-year-old’s squad number during an Aston Villa training session.
However, Hammers News have been exclusively told by a top source at the London Stadium that Villa are making it incredibly hard to get a deal done for the South American attacker.
It has actually been reported that we’ve even agreed personal terms with the Colombia international, but meeting Villa’s demands for him is proving to be more tricky.
Hopefully West Ham and Aston Villa can meet somewhere in the middle for Duran, because he’d be the perfect signing for us this summer.
He possesses explosive pace, great movement and has a really powerful shot on him. If he improves upon his guile and decision making, he could be a real star in the future.
But do the Hammers still have a realistic chance of prising him away from Villa Park?
West Ham now trying to finalise deal for Jhon Duran
So it seems as though the Hammers are still very much trying to bring the Colombian hitman to the London Stadium this summer.
Despite recent reports suggesting that West Ham had stepped away from negotiations with Villa, a potential deal could very much still be on.

Duran seems destined to exit Villa Park this summer, and has made no secret of his desire to leave the West Midlands outfit.
So could he really still join the Hammers this summer, in spite of Villa’s extortionate demands for him?
According to The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas, Lopetegui is trying to push through a deal for the 20-year-old forward.
He said:
“West Ham remain in the market for a forward and are looking to finalise the £30m signing of Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.“
If West Ham do in fact manage to sign Jhon Duran for £30 million, it will be a great deal as far as I’m concerned.
However, I can’t see it happening. Villa clearly want £40 million for the young striker, and are seemingly not ready to budge on that price.
The best we can hope for is signing him for around £35 million in my opinion.
We shall see if things change during the final couple of weeks of the transfer window though.
