West Ham have shared the two big issues with deals for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Noussair Mazraoui as Man United get new hope.

Reports have suggested West Ham are closing in on deals for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran and Manchester United target Noussair Mazraoui.

The Hammers have been trying to sign Aston Villa’s wantaway Duran for several weeks to no avail thus far.

West Ham’s top spokesman close to the board exclusively told Hammers News the club have refused to meet Aston Villa’s £35m valuation of the Colombian.

Villa’s impatient 20-year-old talent Duran has spoken out this week saying he hopes ‘something concrete will happen’ regarding a move to east London.

West Ham have also been in talks to bring Man United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the London Stadium.

West Ham working to close out double deal

But as Man United and Wan-Bissaka refused to budge over money in negotiations, West Ham flipped the script on the Red Devils by moving for Bayern Munich’s Moroccan defender Mazraoui.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag managed Mazraoui at Ajax and has been heavily linked with a move to bring him to Old Trafford.

It was reported yesterday that West Ham are leading Man United in the race for Mazraoui after agreeing a deal in principal with Bayern and the 26-year-old.

But, crucially, it was stated by German journalist Florian Plettenberg that Manchester United were still in the mix.

Meanwhile it was also reported West Ham have seen a new bid for Duran rejected by Villa after offering £30m plus young midfield star Lewis Orford.

That was the state of play yesterday evening.

Now West Ham have shared two big issues stopping deals for Aston Villa’s Duran and Mazraoui as Man United get new hope.

West Ham share 2 issues with Duran and Mazraoui deals

In an exclusive with Hammers News, the top spokesman inside West Ham has revealed there are problems which are proving to be sticking points to both deals.

And it leaves the door ajar for Manchester United to try and turn the tables on the Hammers for Mazraoui.

“Both deals are hard work,” the top West Ham spokesman exclusively told Hammers News.

“As stated before Villa want too much for Duran and nothing has changed.

“And Bayern Munich owe the full-back Mazraoui £3m and won’t pay him.”

Ironically the latter is a very similar situation to when West Ham were trying to sign Harry Maguire from Man United last year.

Hammers update gives Man United new hope

A £30m deal was agreed then but Maguire refused to leave without receiving his pay-off and the move collapsed.

If Manchester United are serious about Mazraoui then they will undoubtedly see this as a big opportunity.

As far as West Ham’s talks with Aston Villa for Duran go, this now seems like a stalemate.

It has angered many Hammers supporters that Orford was even considered in a potential swap deal.

Now that has been rejected West Ham will either have to stump up Villa’s valuation or move on to other targets.

Especially with the season just three weeks away and new head coach Julen Lopetegui still searching for five new signings.

All eyes now will be on whether West Ham and Villa can find a compromise and if Man United decide to try and find a way around the £3m payment Bayern allegedly owe Mazraoui.
