West Ham have reportedly beaten Man United to a marauding star as a deal is agreed for a major summer transfer window coup.
West Ham and Manchester United have been in talks over a number of deals this summer.
The Hammers wanted Man United duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay.
But McTominay looks set to remain at Old Trafford. And there has been a distinct lack of progress for West Ham technical director Tim Steidten in talks with Man United over Wan-Bissaka.
New Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui is determined to sign a new right-back as part of his defensive shake-up.
And after also being frustrated in a move for Kyle Walker-Peters, he and Steidten cleverly turned their attentions towards signing one of Manchester United’s targets instead – Noussair Mazraoui.
Man United shoot themselves in the foot over West Ham deal
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg first broke the news of West Ham’s move to try and sign Moroccan right-back Mazraoui.
Then the journalist, who has top contacts at Bayern Munich, shared an exciting update on the West Ham move for Mazraoui last night.
Plettenberg suggested West Ham were growing increasingly confident of winning the race to beat Man United to the 26-year-old.
That’s despite the fact Mazraoui was managed by Man United boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax.
Now there has been a significant development it seems.
West Ham have beaten Man United to the marauding star as a deal is agreed for a major coup.

According to that man Plettenberg, West Ham are close to beating Manchester United to Mazraoui in a bargain deal worth £13m plus £3.5m in add-ons.
“FC Bayern and West Ham have reached an agreement to sign Noussair Mazraoui!” Plettenberg states.
“Transfer fee is €15.5 (£13m) + €4m (£3.5m) in add-ons.
“There’s also a verbal agreement in principle between West Ham and Mazraoui. But it’s not a done deal yet as important financial details about the deal have to be clarified.
“All parties involved now working on it. Manchester United, still there but West Ham are leading the race now.”
Deal agreed for major Hammers coup over Man United
If the fee and personal terms are agreed then this deal looks to be West Ham’s to lose now.
What a superb signing this would be for the Hammers and a major coup given Man United’s interest.
It also leaves INEOS and Ten Hag with egg on their faces as the Red Devils could have given themselves a clear run at Mazraoui had they just agreed a lower fee with West Ham for Wan-Bissaka.
Manchester United are missing out on one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe in Mazraoui.
If the Hammers can get this deal over the line then the Moroccan would be an ideal addition for a number of reasons. His skills, experience, and versatility make him a valuable asset for the team.
Four reasons Mazraoui is perfect for West Ham
1. Versatility
Mazraoui’s ability to play in multiple positions is a significant advantage. Primarily a right-back, he can also operate as a left-back or in midfield. This versatility allows West Ham to use him in various tactical setups and cover multiple positions when needed, providing valuable depth to the squad.
2. Attacking Prowess
Mazraoui is known for his ability to contribute to the attack. He has excellent dribbling skills, vision, and the capability to deliver precise crosses. His forward runs and overlapping play would add a new dimension to West Ham’s offense, creating more goal-scoring opportunities for the forwards.
3. Defensive Solidity
Despite his attacking inclination, Mazraoui is also a solid defender. He possesses good positional awareness, tackling ability, and the speed to recover quickly, which is essential in the Premier League. His defensive skills would strengthen West Ham’s backline, providing a reliable option on the flanks.
4. Experience at a High Level
Mazraoui has considerable experience playing at a high level with Ajax in the Eredivisie and in European competitions like the Champions League. This experience means he is accustomed to high-pressure situations and playing against top-tier opponents, which would be invaluable for West Ham, especially in their pursuit of success in domestic and European competitions.
