West Ham have responded after shock jock Andy Goldstein claimed he has been told Jarrod Bowen is definitely leaving the club to join Aston Villa.
- Hammers News exclusive
Jarrod Bowen has been the subject of intense media speculation since West Ham were relegated from the Premier League.
West Ham’s Prague hero has been linked with half the clubs in the top flight from Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle to Bournemouth, Everton and Aston Villa.
West Ham laughed at Everton’s reported plan to bid £20m for Bowen earlier this month.
West Ham play down Goldstein’s Bowen to Villa claim
There have since been mounting rumours Unai Emery is pushing Aston Villa to make a more serious move for the Hammers captain.
And a top spokesman for the the club’s board has repeatedly told Hammers News that West Ham hope and believe Bowen will stay.

New majority owner Daniel Kretinsky has made it clear West Ham are under no pressure to sell players like Bowen for financial reasons.
And the winger’s father-in-law Danny Dyer has revealed Bowen has told West Ham he wants to stay.

Hammers News revealed last week that Villa’s interest gave West Ham, Bowen and his wife a major dilemma.
Primarily because Aston Villa is within a commutable distance from Bowen’s Essex pad.
That’s why many supporters have been concerned by a claim from talkSPORT shock jock and wind-up merchant Andy Goldstein that a “good source” has told him Bowen will be leaving the Hammers for Villa Park in a permanent transfer.
Now West Ham have responded after Goldstein’s claims, which the radio station’s presenter insisted did not come from Danny Dyer.
West Ham confident Bowen will stay amid new Villa rumour
“Unbelievable rumour, this will happen,” Goldstein said while asking for a breaking news sound alert to be played on talkSPORT on Monday morning.
“Right, this will happen. I can’t tell you my sources (but) this will happen. You ready for this? Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa. (You) heard it here first.

“Breaking news on talkSPORT, Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa, I’ve heard. I can’t tell you.
“It’s definitely not (come) from Danny Dyer, 100 per cent not Danny Dyer or any connection there. It’s definitely not him.
“Transfer, permanent.”
In a Hammers News exclusive just yesterday, West Ham reiterated their confidence Bowen will stay while also dismissing claims the squad might be unhappy that the winger does not have a clause which halves his £150k per week wages like the rest of the players.

Now the same top source inside West Ham has responded after Hammers News put Goldstein’s claim that Bowen will join Aston Villa to them.
And the Hammers have doubled down that they want Bowen to stay and are under no pressure to sell.
“The club very much hope and believe Jarrod will stay and help get us back up to the Premier League,” the top spokesman inside West Ham told Hammers News.
“Nothing has changed on that since he spoke to Mr Kretinsky and Nuno Espirito Santo last.
“The board are realistic and realise some clubs may make bids for a player of Jarrod’s quality. But we are under no pressure to sell for financial reasons and believe Jarrod is open to staying too.”
There is no doubting Bowen is too good for the Championship and could be playing in the Champions League – for eight games at least – if he joined Aston Villa.
But the Hammers ace does turn 30 next season and knows he can cement his West Ham legend status by staying at the club and leading them back to the big time.
If Bowen does stay and get the Irons back up, he will then give himself the chance of becoming the club’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer – an honour that is agonisingly close and one he fully deserves.
