West Ham boss David Moyes is allegedly eyeing a move to strengthen his defensive ranks during the January transfer window.

The Hammers have made a fabulous start to our 2021/22 campaign, both domestically and on the continent.

Moyes has done a truly magnificent job since taking charge at the London Stadium for the second time back in December 2019.

West Ham going from strength to strength

West Ham are currently flying high in fourth spot in the Premier League table and we can jump up to second with a win against Liverpool on Sunday.

Meanwhile, we are sitting comfortably at the top of our Europa League group having won three and drawn one on the continent this season.

It could be argued that Moyes needs to strengthen his ranks in January, however, if we are to push on and achieve some real success this season.

The Scot desperately needs to sign a striker and potentially another left-back. It seems as though another centre-back is on Moyes’s shopping list, however.

West Ham reportedly have January transfer window plan in mind

The Hammers have Club Brugge centre-back Jack Henry on their radar according to Voetbal Belgie.

The 11-capped Scotland international joined Bruges from Celtic for around £3.5 million in August (Scottish Sun) having spent the previous season on loan with Oostende.

He won two league titles during his time with Celtic.

Hendry, 26, has really impressed with the Belgian outfit.

In six league games so far this season the Scot has averaged 1.3 tackles, 1.7 interceptions, 2.2 clearances and 0.5 blocks per game. He has also won an average of three aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

Hendry is pretty good with the ball at his feet as well. He has made 53 passes on average per game and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 88.7% (Who Scored).

Quite how much Brugges will demand for Hendry remains to be seen.

West Ham January transfer window plan is intreresting

Moyes undoubtedly needs to strengthen his centre-forward ranks before he contemplates bringing another centre-back to the London Stadium.

We have Aji Alese and Jamal Baptiste coming through the ranks as well.

So signing another central defender in January would be a rather strange move.

If Moyes believes that Hendry is someone who would strengthen us considerably though, we will trust the Scot.
