Joe Cole admitted that he was blown away by the ‘unplayable’ Said Benrahma during West Ham United’s draw with Genk in the Europa League tonight.
The Hammers earned a 2-2 draw away in Belgium and our passage through to the knockout stages of the competition is now all but secure.
West Ham were nowhere near their best tonight.
One player stood out from the rest though.
Said Benrahma was absolutely brilliant, especially in the second-half when he took charge of the game.
Joe Cole raves about ‘unplayable’ Said Benrahma
The Algerian has been frustrating at times but tonight he showed the class and quality that he possesses.
He scored two goals that earned us the draw and his second was a truly magnificent solo effort.
Cole was speaking on BT Sport tonight and absolutely raved about Benny (Thursday November 4th, 19:48):
“He’s one of them players who operates in behind the striker, he’s technically very good. I thought he was outstanding tonight and a player who West Ham fans will love watch. He was unplayable at times.”
Benrahma’s job now is to find more consistency and produce the goods regularly in the Premier League.
Six goals and three assists isn’t a bad return from 15 games but we all know that he’s capable of a lot more.
Hopefully the magic that he produced tonight will give him the confidence he needs to reach another level at the London Stadium now.

Benrahma has the potential to be world-class. And we think he has the work ethic and desire needed to reach the very highest level in the game.
