The 21-year-old right-back has been in sensational form recently after filling in for Vladimir Coufal.

The Czech ace recently returned to full fitness but Johnson’s form has been so good that the former Slavia Prague ace is still yet to usurp the youngster in the starting XI.

Johnson really does have the world at his feet.

What an unbelievably talented young player Johnson is…and he will undoubtedly continue to get better and better.

The 21-year-old has massively improved his positional sense defensively and his end product in the final third.

Stuart Pearce shares interesting Ben Johnson claim

The young right-back showcased his ability on the ball and finishing against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

And Pearce told talkSPORT (November 2nd, 7:40 am) something very surprising about Johnson:

“He has got two sensational feet. You saw his left-foot finish at the weekend. You take a finishing practice and he is one of your best finishers, both left and right foot. He really has got a lot of talent and we are pleased that he has come through our academy.”

That’s quite the statement considering the fact that Johnson is a defender and bearing in mind just how much attacking talent David Moyes has amongst his ranks at the London Stadium.

The 21-year-old’s rise to prominence this season has been a real bonus for West Ham after Jeremy Ngakia was allowed to leave last year for nothing and with Ryan Fredericks approaching the end of his contract.

He is one of our own as well…that just makes it all the sweeter.

Johnson will undoubtedly go to the very top. And the fact that he’s a good finisher makes it even more likely that he will succeed as a truly elite, modern era right-back.
