West Ham ready to sell Said Benrahma for an £8 million loss in January

West Ham United are reportedly ready to sell Said Benrahma in the January transfer window for a huge loss.

Said Benrahma has been in really poor form for West Ham this season, so it’s no surprise that he’s been heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has fallen well down the left wing pecking order under Hammers boss David Moyes over the past few months.

Benrahma was signed from Brentford for £25 million three years ago (Goal), after he spent the previous three months on loan at the London Stadium.

Unfortunately for us though, he has failed to live up to the reputation that he carried with him when he arrived in East London.

And now it may well be time for him to move on from West Ham, if Lyon cough up the money of course…

West Ham ready to sell Said Benrahma in January

L’Equipe claim that the Hammers are demanding £17 million from Lyon for the Algeria international this winter – an £8 million loss on what we paid for him in 2021.

I’m not being funny but if any club offers anything like that sort of money for Said, West Ham should bite their hand off.

Said Benrahma hasn’t played with any kind of desire, passion or commitment for a long time now. He has played 20 games in all competitions so far this term, with only one assist and zero goals to his name. Benny has played just 615 Premier League minutes (Transfermarkt)

The former Brentford man is nothing more than a bit-part squad player at the London Stadium now, but I just have a feeling that he might be kept at the club beyond the end of this month.

Moyes just has so many attacking players currently out injured, and the Scot can’t really afford to let the Algerian leave, unless he brings in two forward players this month.

That said, if West Ham do receive a £17 million offer for Said Benrahma, the owners would be mad to reject it, considering his drastic regression over the past six months.
