Said Benrahma could join London Premier League rivals in the January transfer window

West Ham United winger Said Benrahma could join one of our London Premier League rivals in January.

Said Benrahma is being heavily linked with an exit from West Ham in the January transfer window, and the 28-year-old attacker apparently wants to leave the London Stadium.

The 21-capped Algeria international has been absolutely woeful for the Hammers this season, but in fairness to him, he hasn’t been given many chances to impress by David Moyes.

Benrahma has played 20 games in all competitions so far this term, with only one assist and zero goals to his name. He has played just 542 Premier League minutes (Transfermarkt), and is nothing more than a bit-part player at the London Stadium now.

The former Brentford man is just not the player he once was, and has been a shadow of his former self this season. His lack of confidence has badly affected his ability to beat defenders and if we’re being honest, he doesn’t look as fit as he should be either.

Now Benrahma could be heading for the exit door…

According to a report from the Daily Mail (print edition January 1st, The Verdcit page 10), Benrahma is a transfer target for Fulham this winter.

I wouldn’t mind the Algerian leaving the Hammers, but not until the summer.

The reality is that we will need him over the next four or five weeks, with Mohammed Kudus heading off for AFCON with Ghana and Lucas Paqueta currently out injured.

The 28-year-old is definitely good enough to be a decent option for us over the next month, but he needs to buck up his ideas, and fast.

Said Benrahma hasn’t played with any kind of desire, passion or commitment for a long time now, and he owes West Ham a good run of form.

I just can’t see us selling him this month, unless Moyes has a ready made replacement lined up for him of course.

He’ll be much more likely to move on from the London Stadium when the summer transfer window opens in five month’s time.
