West Ham eyeing blockbuster January transfer window deal for 24-year-old Real Madrid star

West Ham United are being linked with a shock move to sign a Real Madrid star in the January window.

The upcoming January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham United manager David Moyes.

The Hammers need to make some reinforcements this winter, if we are to maintain our fine start to the season during the second half of the campaign.

Moyes needs more competition in the attacking midfield and left wing department, and it seems as though he’s being hugely ambitious with his latest transfer target.

Real Madrid midfield star Brahim Diaz is believed to be on the West Ham radar according to a report from Real Madrid Exclusivo, but we could face competition from the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa and Italian giants AC Milan for his signature.

What a signing the super talented Spaniard would be for the Hammers if Moyes manages to get it done…

West Ham eyeing Real Madrid star in January transfer window

It is claimed that Madrid want around €60 million (£52 million) for Diaz this winter.

I’m pretty sure the Hammers won’t be spending anything like that on the diminutive Spaniard in January.

Perhaps we could go all out for him in the summer though, if he’s still available then of course.

The 24-year-old Real Madrid ace is a real rare commodity in modern day football in the sense that he is equally as good with his left foot as he is his right – very much in the same vein as the magnificent Santi Cazorla.

Diaz has bagged four goals and two assists in 17 games and a total of just 665 minutes for Madrid so far this season (Transfermarkt). The 24-year-old can operate as an attacking midfielder as well as on both wings, and possesses exceptional technical ability.

He is clearly not a guaranteed starter under Carlo Ancelotti, and he may well need to leave the Bernabeu in order to reinvigorate his career.

I would love West Ham to sign the Spaniard in the January transfer window, but as mentioned earlier, I really can’t see it happening, especially not this winter.

I think he’ll be far more likely to join a club like Newcastle and Aston Villa if I’m being honest.
