West Ham United surely won’t be making one January signing in particular this month now.
The January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham, and one signing David Moyes definitely needs to make is the addition of a new forward.
Hammers boss David Moyes is currently without Mohammed Kudus due to his participation at AFCON and the injured Michail Antonio.
One forward we’ve been linked with signing this month is former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, with the 32-year-old an apparent option for the East London club.
The South American forward is an elite player, and to even be linked with a forward with such proven calibre is a sign of where we’re currently at as a club.
However, we clearly won’t be bringing the Brazilian back to the Premier League this winter…

West Ham dream January signing won’t be happening
What a signing Firmino would be for us. The 32-year-old would be the perfect man to play throuhg the middle and link everything up togther nicely.
The thought of the Al-Ahli man playing alongside Lucas Paqueta, Kudus and Jarrod Bowen is an extremely exciting one. It won’t be happening though.
According to a report from The Sun, Firmino is demanding an extortionate £300k-a-week in order to leave Al-Ahli this winter.
The 32-year-old has bagged three goals and three assists in 19 games for Al-Ahli since swapping Merseyside for Saudi Arabia in the summer – not a great return, it must be said. However, his tally of 111 goals and 79 assists in 362 games for Liverpool is evidence of his undoubted quality (Transfermarkt).
Now it seems as though his agents are touting him for a move back to England, with West Ham apparently one of the interested parties.
A move to join the Hammers clearly won’t be happening for Firmino this winter though. There is absolutely no way we’d agree to pay him £300k-a-week.
Paqueta is our current highest earner on £150k-a-week (Spotrac), and there’s no chance that we’d smash our wage structure just to accommodate the former Liverpool striker.
So West Ham United’s dream of signing Firmino in January is already over it seems.
